Tom C. Langford joined Mission Resources in November 2004 as Senior Vice President and General Counsel after holding the position of Vice President and General Counsel of El Paso Production Company. Prior to El Paso, Mr. Langford was Vice President Land and Legal for Sonat Exploration Company before it was acquired by El Paso Corporation in October 1999. Prior to Mr. Langford’s time at Sonat, he was Vice President and General Counsel for Bridge Oil Company USA Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Bridge Oil Company of Sydney Australia, where he was exposed to numerous international transactions as well as managing the legal, land and marketing affairs of the US subsidiary. During this time, Mr. Langford formed BridgeGas a very successful gas marketing operation that matched producers with end users in the newly unregulated gas industry. Mr. Langford has overseen or been directly involved in the sale or acquisition of several billion dollars worth of properties. In addition, he has negotiated numerous agreements with industry partners and third party vendors. Throughout his career, Mr. Langford has been involved with management of litigation and in the successful settlement negotiation of several high profile lawsuits.
Mr. Langford graduated from South Texas College of Law in Houston in 1980.
