Marshall L. Munsell joined Mission Resources in August 2002 and served as its Senior Vice President-Land & Land Administration until the company was merged with Petrohawk Energy in July 2005. At Mission, Mr. Munsell reorganized the Company’s Land and Land Administration Departments. Mr. Munsell was also responsible for Mission’s business development activities that included screening a large number of acquisition opportunities and closing transactions in excess of $158 million. Prior to Mission, in 1997 Mr. Munsell joined DDD Energy, the Houston, Texas based exploration subsidiary of Seitel Corporation as Land Manager, where he established the Company’s Land Department. Upon his departure from DDD, Mr. Munsell was Senior Vice President responsible for a staff of 27, where he managed an annual budget in excess of $25 million. Mr. Munsell served as Gulf Coast Land Manager for Presidio Oil Company from 1988 to 1997 and was responsible for Presidio’s land activities in Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Mississippi. Mr. Munsell began his career in 1980 with Sun Oil Company in Dallas, Texas where he served in many roles in the Land Department in various regions of the United States.
Mr. Munsell, a Certified Professional Landman, earned a Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Land Management from the University of Texas at Austin in 1980. Mr. Munsell is a member of the Independent Petroleum Association of America, the American Association of Professional Landmen and the Houston Association of Professional Landmen.
